March means that Spring is just around the corner along the Gulf Coast. The warmer weather inspires folks to wake up from their winter "hibernation" and head outside! This week we'll take a look at things happening in Mobile, Baldwin County & Baton Rouge! A quick glance at my calendar tells me it is going to be an entertaining month.
Let's explore Mobile this week!
Last week I ducked into a local nursery to get a dose of spring! With the warmer temperature, the azaleas are beginning to bloom and our friends at Bellingrath Gardens are ready to celebrate! March is the Azalea Bloom Out with over 250,000 plants coloring the landscape of the 65 acre property! If you are a plant lover like I am, this is a don't miss! Click here for details!
Insider tip: Wear comfortable walking shoes, a hat and don't forget your sunscreen!

The History Museum in downtown Mobile has a temporary exhibit called Ancient Rome: The Empire That Shaped the World. I took the guided tour for this one and learned some new things! This exhibit is in town until April 5th. Click here for details.
Insider tip: First Sundays are free for residents at the museum.
If you are looking to develop your wine palate, Brooke Goff, owner of Domke Market has Wine Wednesday on March 4th featuring Josie Spencer with Grassroots. If you are interested click here for more information! Ask about her monthly wine club the next time you are in the shop!

Congratulations to Crimson Blue Boutique for opening a mid-city location. Owners, Hope Binegar & Suzy Gayle are excited about getting to know the customers living along Old Shell Road. Follow them on Facebook & Instagram! 2502 Old Shell Road, M-Saturday 10AM-6PM.
Did you know that Baldwin County is the same size as Rhode Island? It offers everything from shopping to sandy beaches. Now that the temperatures are rising, the highways heading south are going to be busy on the weekends! Trust me it is worth the hassle of some traffic congestion to journey down to the coast.
Let's take a look at Baldwin County this week!
Every lady I know loves a great shopping experience and the quaint town of Fairhope offers a walkable downtown that is lined with beautiful flowers and wonderful shops!

Stop in and visit our friend, Kassie at Back on the Rack! She specializes in Upscale Resale and only takes the best items into her Fairhope Avenue shop!
It is not unusual to find designer handbags with the original tags attached! She has shoes, clothing, accessories and more available. Her store hours are Monday thru Friday, 10AM-5:30PM and on Saturdays, 10AM-4PM.
The beach calls my name and visiting Gulf Shores & Orange Beach are a regular thing for us. If you have ever considered buying a second home near the coast, I'd like to introduce you to Heather Loper, Realtor at Keller Williams Alabama Gulf Coast.
Heather lives and works in the Orange Beach area and she can guide you to the perfect beach property investment. Her top priority is to build a relationship with her clients in order to find the right place for them to call home. Clients enjoy her firsthand knowledge of the community.

Boss of the Week
Ron Finch
Owner
Enviro-Master of Mobile
The flu, Coronavirus and other diseases are what Enviro-Master of Mobile fights on a daily basis in the public restrooms of conscientious business owners along the Gulf Coast. Thank goodness for his team being on the front line of defense. Read all about his company at meetdaboss.com/enviromaster. We caught up with Ron this week and asked him a couple of questions!
#1 What is one insider tip you would share with people moving to or visiting the Mobile area?
I would advise to take in as much history as possible. There's so much history here in Mobile, from downtown and the USS Alabama to the historic forts protecting Mobile and the Bay. I would also advise to enjoy the fresh Gulf of Mexico seafood here. I've lived and visited all over, and our seafood is the best! ~ Ron
#2 What is one thing you love about living in Mobile?
My favorite thing about living in Mobile is being close to water, either Mobile Bay or the Gulf of Mexico. Water is my zen. I could sit by the Bay for hours and watch the water, the ships, trawlers or shrimp boats, etc. Of course, I'd rather be on the boat. ~ Ron
#3 What is one thing you would like people to know about your business?
The most important aspect of my business is that we offer a low-cost service that keeps employees and customers safe from harmful bacteria and viruses. We want to make the Greater Mobile Area and the Gulf Coast safer and healthier! ~ Ron
#4 What do you do for fun?
When I have time, my two favorite fun things to do are fishing and multi-day hiking/ primitive camping. I really connect to the outdoors and find a lot of fulfillment there.
Thank you Ron for sharing your insights on living along the Gulf Coast!

On a personal note, I want to honor my Dad on his birthday, March 5th. Thanks for teaching me what it means to be loved unconditionally!
In this picture he was only a few years old! He grew up in Laurel, Mississippi and went on to serve as a US Marine in WWII on Iwo Jima. (I feel very fortunate to be alive).
His Marine buddies absolutely loved to make him laugh. They said he would start laughing and the whole unit would join in.
After the war, he studied engineering at Mississippi State and was a true math whiz. He could calculate faster than any handheld device. He would "make" me put my calculator away and use my brain. I didn't like it back then, however I am grateful today. I always felt like I was in the presence of a true genius when I was in the room with him. There wasn't anything that he could not master if he decided to take it on.
Every year I would search for some crazy birthday gift that he would not buy for himself. He ended up with leather Nike's, overalls, blue jeans and a redwood lawn recliner to name a few! I think he liked the jeans & tennis shoes the best! If he was still alive, I'd be out searching for some cool sunglasses or something else that would make him smile.
I get every ounce of kindness from him. He rarely got upset or angry and always looked for the good in others. Momma said that he was "too nice" and some folks took advantage of him. She was probably right, however I wouldn't change a thing.
Happy Birthday, Daddy!
~ Charli
